Terrorism is one more of those terms that everyone seems ready to use, but no one can agree on an exact definition. Let's add one more definition to the previous ones. The UN General Assembly use the following in its pronouncements on terrorism: "Criminal acts intended or calculated to provoke a state of terror in the general public, a group of persons or particular persons for political purposes are in any circumstance unjustifiable, whatever the considerations of a political, philosophical, ideological, racial, ethnic, religious or any other nature that may be invoked to justify them."

As is characteristic for civil law jurisdictions, Ukrainian law consists of the legislative acts enacted by the Parliament of Ukraine and international treaties, which upon their ratification become part of the national legislation. According to the Constitution of Ukraine, in the case of a conflict between treaty provisions and national law, the international treaty provisions prevail. Conflict with the Constitution itself is the only exception as the Constitution is of the highest legal authority and always takes precedence over other provisions...

On 28 January 2020, the arbitration panel has been formed in the dispute between the EU and Ukraine regarding Ukraine’s export prohibition of unprocessed timber. Notably, this is the first dispute between the EU and Ukraine under the Association Agreement (“EU-Ukraine AA”), and here, the EU invokes the dispute settlement mechanism provided by the free-trade agreement instead of the usual WTO dispute settlement mechanism
